We’ve transformed our Katy Haus into the Christmas Cottage for only 54 days, from now through January 4th. Then it’ll be another year before the Christmas Cottage makes its appearance again.

THE HOUSE
Located nearly on the Katy Trail in Marthasville, Missouri, the Christmas Cottage (aka Katy Haus) is in Missouri wine country and less than an hour from St. Louis.
The best pizza in the county is steps from the door, and several wineries only a few minutes down the road.
The Christmas Cottage is a one level little house with 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom (handicapped friendly). It sleeps a total of 4 people and is dog friendly.
We love daylight and filled the house with it. The open great room has extra tall ceilings, large windows, and a luxury king sleeper sofa.
The full kitchen has everything you need except food to make your own meals, including place settings, pots and pans, wine glasses, and both a Keurig and a regular coffee maker.
The single bedroom has a king size bed with crisp white linens from The Distinguished Guest and light blocking curtains for sleeping late.
And the bathroom, well, guests have commented that it is the best shower ever. Extra large in size and has a handheld shower head for extra accessibility. Full size washer and dryer also.
OUTDOOR SPACE
Hot tub and a fenced yard topped with twinkle lights right off the porch for you and your doggies! Fully fenced for privacy with a nice grassy area for your doggie to play.
BIKE SHED
We now have a bike shed (shared with the Bank Haus) if you would like to store your bikes.
WINERIES
Lake Creek Winery is only 2 miles down the road. Blumenhoff Winery is 5 minutes away in Dutzow, and all the Augusta wineries are only 15 minutes down the road.
WEDDINGS
Are you attending a wedding nearby at The Preserve (a stone’s throw away), Boone Monument Village (2 minutes), Lake Creek Winery (2 minutes), or in the nearby town of Washington (8 minutes)? We are happy to host you!

GROCERIES
Marthasville has a small grocery store just up the road, easy to access by car or bicycle or even a walk if you don’t mind using extra care along the small highway.
RESTAURANTS
Philly’s Pizza has the best pizza in the county. Located right next door on the next street, you’ll want to stop in and taste what everyone talks about.
Cori’s Twin Gables is a short walk down the road, easy stumbling distance if necessary. All your favorite bar food plus the best drinks, including local gin and tonic on tap.

If you’re looking for a little weekend get away don’t look any further! This places is the cutest little house, comfy bed, and much more! My husband and I brought yard games and played them and our dog loved laying in the yard sunning.
There are so many things to do around and there are many great local restaurants. I recommend Philly’s and Cori’s Twin Gables! For activities, we went to the orchard by Dollar General and picked our own berries, went to Lake Creek Winery, Big Joel’s petting zoo and Lake Cellar’s Winery! Great stay!

Location
Christmas Cottage is located on Depot Street, what used to be the main street in Marthasville, an historic town that just celebrated its 200th anniversary. Depot is now a sleepy street that sees more people biking and walking than driving cars.
Philly’s Pizza is across the side street from the Christmas Cottage and has delicious pizza.
Note that the MFA Co-op is directly across the street in front of the Christmas Cottage. This is a working grain silo location for area farmers and does produce dust during loading and unloading of grain and corn occasionally throughout the day.
Observe a small town American farming community during your stay in Marthasville!
You can bike or walk anywhere in Marthasville and nearby, or drive your car. You’ll need transportation of some type with you (car, bike, or your feet) as there are very few Uber drivers available in the area.
